DIRECTIONS TO VENTANA
Ventana is located in Big Sur, along California’s Central Coast between Monterey and San Luis Obispo. The hotel is located just off Highway 1, 28 miles south of Carmel. The resort is easy to reach via plane and car, with several airports nearby and a major highway just seconds away. MONTEREY REGIONAL AIRPORT (MRY)
Monterey Regional Airport (MRY) is located just one hour away from Ventana. The airport features daily nonstop flights from Denver, Las Vegas, Dallas, Los Angeles, Phoenix and San Francisco, along with connecting flights from hundreds of cities. The airport — with more than 80 daily flights — is serviced by American/American Eagle, Delta/Delta Connections, United/United Express, and US Airways.

SAN FRANCISCO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (SFO)
San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is approximately two and a half hours away from Ventana via car. SFO — California’s second-busiest airport and America’s fifth-largest hub — welcomes daily nonstop flights from east coast cities such as New York, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and others. San Francisco International serves as Virgin America’s base and features four large terminals.
SAN JOSÉ INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (SJC)
One of the fastest-growing airports in America, San José International Airport (SJC) is located a couple of hours north of Ventana. As the airport for Silicon Valley, SJC is just minutes away from global tech giants in this wealthy and diverse region. It is served by 13 airlines, including Alaska, American, Delta, JetBlue, Southwest, and United. Nonstop service is available to Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Nashville, Phoenix, Seattle, and other major cities.
Ventana is accessible via car from both the San Francisco Bay Area and the Los Angeles metro area. The drive from Los Angeles to Ventana is approximately five hours, most of which occurs on scenic Highway 1. The trip from the San Francisco Bay Area takes approximately two and a half hours, traveling through San Jose, Gilroy and Monterey. Detailed directions are included below.

Driving directions
From the North:
- Take Highway 101 south to Highway 156 in Prunedale.
- Take Highway 156 west to Highway 1 in Monterey.
- Follow Highway 1 south thru Monterey and Carmel.
- Ventana is located 28 miles south of Carmel on the left side of Highway 1.
Alternate option:
- Take Highway 280 south.
- Get on Highway 85 south.
- Take Highway 101 south towards Los Angeles.
- Take Highway 156 west to Monterey (Highway 1).
- Take Highway 1 south to Monterey and Carmel.
- Ventana is located 28 miles south of Carmel.
You also can take Highway 1 south all the way to Big Sur. This takes much, much longer, but is a beautiful drive.
